Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. This page explains what we do (and do not do) with your data, and how to exercise your rights.
RolePilot does not sell your personal information for money. We do not run cross-site behavioral advertising trackers on RolePilot product surfaces. We do not provide bulk access to user data to advertisers, data brokers, marketing platforms, or AI training datasets.
The only third parties who receive your information from us are the service providers we use to operate the product (described in our Privacy Policy §5). Those providers are contractually limited to processing your data on our behalf to deliver the service you signed up for.
Even though we do not "sell" personal information in the traditional sense, California law defines "sale" and "sharing" broadly. We provide this opt-out so you can exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights without ambiguity.
RolePilot honors the Global Privacy Control browser signal automatically. If your browser sends a Sec-GPC: 1 header, we treat it as a valid opt-out request without any further action from you. You will see this opt-out reflected in the rp_dns_opt_out cookie we set in response.
GPC is supported by Brave, DuckDuckGo, Firefox (with the privacy.globalprivacycontrol.enabled flag), and several privacy-focused extensions. If you use one of these browsers with GPC enabled, you are already opted out. No additional action needed.
If your browser does not send a GPC signal, you can opt out manually by emailing hello@rolepilot.io with the subject line "CCPA Opt-Out Request" and the email address associated with your RolePilot account.
We will process the request within fifteen (15) business days, as required by California law. We may take reasonable steps to verify that the request is being made by the account holder before processing it.
Opting out does not delete your RolePilot account or stop the core service. You will continue to have access to your saved searches, connected accounts, automation settings, and all features you signed up for.
What changes: we will not include your account in any aggregate analysis that California law could classify as "sharing" with third-party advertising or measurement partners. In practice, since we do not currently engage in such sharing, the opt-out has no operational effect on your account today. The mechanism exists so you have a verifiable opt-out record if our practices ever change.
California residents also have the right to access, delete, and correct personal information we hold about you, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights. You can exercise these from the Privacy tab inside your Settings page, or by emailing hello@rolepilot.io.
Full details are described in our Privacy Policy §9 (Your Rights and Requests) and §10 (California Privacy Disclosures).
